PM Modi: ‘Krishi Kumbh’ will act as catalyst for agriculture

Yogi Adityanath also inaugurated a Centre for excellence built in partnership with Israel.

Prime Minister said Krishi kumbh will act as a catalyst in the field of agriculture.

Prime Minister also said that this effort of the UP government in organising such a mega Agriculture expo reflects the philosophy of the Modi government that puts the farmer and the rural economy at the centre of decision making to ensure economic growth and development of the nation.

PM Modi also recounted initiatives taken by his government to double farmers income by 2022.

He said that there has been record procurement of wheat at MSP by the UP government.

E-procurement has eradicated middle men. Sugarcane procurement has also increased.

Prime Minister said that the government putting great emphasis on the use of technology in the field of agriculture.From seed to market, the interests of farmers are being ensured at every stage by boosting infrastructure.

Prime Minister said solar pumps are replacing diesel and electric pumps.

28 Lakh farmers will get solar pumps over the next 4 years.

This will ensure free electricity and the option to sell surplus power to distribution companies.

Bringing up the issue of burning of stubble, Prime Minister said that the government is offering 50 to 80% subsidy on machines to clear the fields.

He called on farmers to adopt the waste to wealth model.

Prime Minister hailed the role that the agriculture sector plays in strengtehning India's economy and said that his government is doing all it can to support farmers.

Prime Minister said that this effort of the UP government reflects the philosophy of the Modi government that puts the farmer and the rural economy at the centre of economic growth and development of the nation.
