Dhaka High Court summons Dhaka Chief Health Officers over spike in Dengue Cases

There has been a sharp spike in Dengue cases in the capital city Dhaka recently. More than 400 new Dengue patients have been admitted to city hospitals in the last two days. According to the health emergency operation centre and control room of the government more than 7000 cases of Dengue have been reported in the city this year.

Official data says 5 people have died due to Dengue though the media reports a much higher figure. A civil surgeon also succumbed to Dengue fever on Monday.

Earlier on Saturday the WHO Bangladesh had said that said the dengue situation was alarming in Bangladesh, but not out of control.
