Ayan Mukerji was reluctant to reveal Dev's face for a long time in Brahmastra
Interest: "Ayan wanted the audience to make their own judgments about who Dev is, without showing him. He was worried about the power of judgement that comes with seeing someone’s face. I think this is a true director’s instinct," says Rajkumar Hirani.
Desire: It might have been his reluctance, but Ayan Mukerji ended up making one of the most thrilling conclusions to a trilogy ever seen on screen, by cleverly masking Dev (and blacking out his voice) while telling his story through other characters.
