Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Saturday asked the BJP Legislature Party leader Devendra Fadnavis to indicate willingness and ability of his party to form a new government in the state.
Elections to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly were held on 21st October and the results were declared on 24th October.
However, even after 15 days, no single party or alliance of parties has come forward to form the government.
BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar said receiving an invitation from the Governor is a part of the constitutional process, and Shiv Sena should respect the mandate.
He said that the BJP is ready for talks with Shiv Sena any time.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Maharashtra Governor's decision is a welcome step.
