Eid Milad-un-Nabi being celebrated

The Prophet's birthday falls on the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal.  President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime minister Narendra Modi have extended his greetings and good wishes on the occasion.

In his message the President said "Let us learn and get inspired from life of Prophet Muhammad and work for the well being of all by spreading his message of universal brotherhood and compassion".

Vice President in his message said "Prophet Mohammad preached love, peace, compassion, universal brotherhood and empathy. He showed humanity the path of righteousness and virtue.

He expressed hope that this celebration of the life of the Prophet will strengthen the spirit of generosity and charity and bring people closer to one another.
