Coronavirus Lockdown | Don't rush to railway stations: Government

Indian Railways is operating 'Shramik Special' trains to take labourers, pilgrims, tourists and students stranded around the country due to lockdown back home.

All trains including suburban trains still stand cancelled so no one should go to the Railway Station for bookings or enquires.

Any one, who wants to travel back home should contact nodal officers appointed by the State Government only.

The trains are being run on the request of various state governments. The state government is the final authority to decide who will travel.

A 'Shramik special train' carrying around 1,200 migrant workers left for Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, from Maharashtra's Bhiwandi. The train is expected to reach destination on Sunday night.

As per the authorities, medical check-ups will be done once passengers arrive at Gorakhpur station. Arrangements were also done for sending migrant workers to their homes safely.
